Fresh off a third place finish at the Virginia Duals, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga wrestling team has moved into this week's Intermat Top 25 Dual Meet rankings.  The Mocs are No. 25 with an 8-3 overall record, 3-0 in Southern Conference action.

This is the third year in a row Chattanooga has made an appearance in the Top 25 during the regular season.  The Mocs were No. 20 for a week early last season and spent four weeks ranked in the 2013-14 campaign. 

All three of the Mocs losses have come against ranked opponents.  UTC has also had impressive wins over Rider and Arizona State. 

Junior Jared Johnson leads the way individually.  He is No. 11 at heavyweight in Intermat's Top 20 with a 17-3 overall record.  Junior Michael Pongracz is also having a strong year with a 16-2 overall record. 

The Mocs are almost listed in the USA Today/NWCA Division I Wrestling Coaches Poll that was also released today.  UTC has nine points in the voting and is one spot out of the Top 25.     

UTC is back home this week for a SoCon dual against Gardner-Webb.  Match time is set for 6:00 p.m. (E.S.T.) on Friday, Jan. 15, in Maclellan Gym.  Tickets are on sale now on GoMocs.com or by calling the UTC Ticket Office at 423-266-MOCS (6627).
