CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's track team revealed the 2016 Indoor Track and Field schedule.
Â
The Mocs will open the season Sunday, Jan. 24 at the Emory Crossplex Invitational in Birmingham, Ala. After a two-week break, UTC will resume competition at the Middle Tennessee Invitational hosted by MTSU in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
Â
"Both of these meets will be great opportunities for our younger athletes to get their feet wet without getting overwhelmed," Chattanooga head coach
Bill Gautier said. "Some have never competed in a collegiate race and this will be a good opportunity for everyone to get back to running."
Â
Chattanooga will travel back to the Crossplex in Birmingham for the Samford Invitational on February 12 in a warmup for the Southern Conference Championships which will be run at this location two weeks later.
Â
"This will be a good race for anyone who needs a qualifying time for the SoCon," Gautier said. "It's just two weeks before the championships and it will be our second time at the Crossplex this season."
Â
In the regular season finale, the Mocs will climb Monteagle Mountain to take part in the Sewanee Indoor Invitational on February 20. The Southern Conference Championships will take place on February 26, hosted by Samford University at the Crossplex.
