University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team wrapped up fall play at the Roberta Alison Fall Classic today. The Mocs scored two singles and a doubles win in their last action of the semester.
Sophomore
Sydney Patton advanced to the finals of the Morgan Draw with two wins yesterday. She dropped the title match today to Troy's Hannah Seizer (6-4, 6-4) to finish second in the bracket.
Sophomore
Caroline Hall placed third in the Ketchum Draw following today's three set win over Marta Morga of Memphis (5-7, 6-3, 7-5). Sophomore
Mckenzie Barco had the other win in the Marrow Draw over West Alabama's Liliana Araucz (6-4, 7-5).
"
Caroline Hall had a really good win against a really solid player from Memphis," stated head coach
Chad Camper. "It was a great finish to a great fall for her."
Hall and Barco had the lone doubles win, an 8-5 victory against the Samford tandem of Beltrame and Pool. Edwards and Patton dropped both of their doubles matches today, losing 8-6 to Georgia Tech and DePaul. They finished fourth in the Harris Draw.
"Caroline and Mckenzie's win over Samford was one of the highlights of the weekend," added Camper. "For them to not play that well and still use some smart play to win the match was good to see. We came a long way in two days.
"It was a good fall altogether. I was pleased with the team. I think we gelled together in a lot of spots and we have some really good momentum going into the offseason."
UTC is off for the rest of the term and will start spring dual action in January. A full spring schedule will be posted on GoMocs.com in the coming weeks.
