Joyner Named CSM Player of the Week

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- For the second time this season, College Sports Madness has tabbed University of Tennessee at Chattanooga junior Jasmine Joyner (Southaven, Miss.) the Southern Conference Player of the Week.
 
Joyner, a two-time SoCon Player of the Week, led the Mocs to second in the SoCon standings with back-to-back road victories at UNCG and Western Carolina. She averaged a double-double for the week with 17 points and 11 rebounds and had 10 blocked shots.
 
Against the Spartans, Joyner was 9-of-14 (64.3%) from the field and 3-of-5 from the free throw line. She scored a game-high 21 points and pulled down 13 boards. She was a defensive force with 10 defensive rebounds, five blocked shots and two steals in the win.
 
Two days later, she just missed her eighth double-double of the year with 13 points and nine rebounds against the Catamounts. Joyner played 38 minutes at WCU and had five blocked shots with a pair of assists and a pair of steals, helping the Mocs move to second in the league standings at 9-2.
 
Joyner leads the nation in blocked shots per game with 4.24 and is averaging a SoCon-best 9.3 rebounds. She shot 48.3 percent for the week and had a 1.0 assist-turnover ratio.
