Basketball Reseating FAQs

What is the Priority Point System?
The UTC Mocs Club Priority Point System is intended to promote fairness, generate financial support for Mocs Athletics, and reward the loyalty of longtime supporters. This system also provides an incentive for beginning, renew­ing, and increasing participation as an athletic donor and season ticket holder. The system is administered collaboratively by the staff of the UTC Ticket Office and The UTC Mocs Club.
 
Priority Points are awarded to establish "rank" order among those who support UTC Athletics through philan­thropic gifts, purchasing season tickets, alumnus points, and broadening the support base through referrals. The points program facilitates the equitable al­location of "high-demand" benefits such as tickets and parking within the various donation levels.
 
How are points calculated?
There is a one-time allocation of 5 points for the following categories:
  1. Mocs Club member who earned a varsity letter at UTC and
  2. Mocs Club member who earned one or more UTC degrees (maximum of 5 points/person and 10 points/household)
 
The recurring point structure is outlined below:
5 Points per $100 of unrestricted gifts made to the Mocs Club
4 points per $100 of Capital gifts made to the Mocs Club
3 points for every member you refer to the Mocs Club
2 points per $100 of restricted gifts made to the Mocs Club
1 point per $100 Gifts In-Kind given to the Mocs Club
1 point per account for each year of consecutive season ticket purchase in every ticketed sport since 2005
 
Can I keep my existing seats?
All season ticket holders, regardless of donation or priority ranking, must re-select their seats. All seat history will be erased for the reseat, and every seat in the arena will be available to be selected during the reseat.
 
How do I renew my tickets?
Renewals will be sent out the first week of May. During the renewal process, you will be purchasing the quantity and price level of your tickets, rather than individual seats. During the renewal process, donors can increase/decrease their quantity and change their price level.
 
What if my seats don't require a donation?
All seats in the arena, not just donation obligated seating, will go through the full reseat process. Although some season ticket holders are not active Mocs Club members, they still accrue priority points by being a season ticket holder. This allows all ticket holders, regardless of donation, to be ranked.
 
What are the deadlines associated with the reseat?
Mocs Club renewals will be emailed in early March, and followed-up with a direct-mail piece for any outstanding balances on March 15. Mocs Club members will have until July 1st to make at-least half of their gift in-order to be considered for the reseat. Season ticket renewals will be mailed on May 1st, and tickets will have to be paid in-full to be considered for the reseat.
 
Please note that you will only accrue priority points for the portion of your gift that you've made on or before July 1st (i.e. if your pledge is $1,500 and you have paid half ($750) by the July 1 deadline, you will add 37.5 priority points to your total instead of the full 75 of your pledge).
 
When will I select my seats?
After the renewal deadline of July 1st, the Mocs Club will pull the donor ranking and assign appointment times to all Basketball season ticket holders. Appointment times will be communicated the week of July 11-15 via phone, email and direct mail.
 
The reseat will be held from Friday, August 5th through Saturday, August 6th.
 
How do I select my seats?
Once you receive your appointment time, you will have the option of the following:
 
  1. Pick your seats in person at McKenzie Arena during your selection window
  2. Designate someone to pick your seats for you (a form will be included with your appointment time in which you may designate an individual)
  3. Pick your seats online, beginning at the time of your appointment
 
Can I designate a member of the UTC Athletics staff to pick my seats for me?
UTC Athletics staff members will not be available to assist in the reseat process. Due to limited staff members, our staff will be all-hands-on-deck assisting with the operational and logistical support of the event, and cannot in good faith serve as a liaison for season ticket holders and Mocs Club members.
 
What if I miss the July 1st deadline to purchase my tickets of make my Mocs Club gift?
You will still be eligible to select seats, but your selection will take place after the priority reseat.
