Postgame Quotes vs. Samford

CHATTANOOGA vs. SAMFORD
Southern Conference Tournament - Semifinal
Asheville, N.C. - U.S. Cellular Center
Friday - March 4, 2016

Chattanooga Mocs

Coach Jim Foster
On second half
"I thought we played the third quarter not to lose. I thought we played the fourth quarter to win."

On defense against Samford
"The dilemma is they run the Princeton stuff and they are so good at it. They make good reads and they make a lot of cuts. They're perfectly willing to take 28 seconds off the clock before they take the shot. That's the way they play. It's a tempo situation. Except for that blip in the third quarter, I thought we defended them much better out of the zone because we're a little bit closer and they aren't cutting. We got caught up because we weren't bumping the way we needed to bump. We were going after people we didn't need to go after. That's the scouting report. Sometimes when you get in the zone, you lose sight of the scouting report."

Redshirt junior Queen Alford
On second half
"It's just momentum. We make sure that we keep the energy up and stuff like that."

On buckling down defensively
"We have to buckle down and play. Either you win or lose."

On playing Mercer
"It's going to be a tough one, but the best team is going to win."

Junior Jasmine Joyner
On course of the game
"I knew I had to be strong with my post moves. I thought there were going to double-team me, and I was going to look for my open teammate in case they did."
