No. 8 sums up freshman guard
Peyton Woods' first season as a whole. No moment was too big for Woods.
He hit two big 3s in the season-opening overtime triumph at Georgia to go with the triple he hit at Dayton that gave his squad its largest lead (8) in what was arguably the program's best win since reaching the 1997 NCAA Sweet 16 over Illinois.
Fast forward to the NCAA East Regional first round matchup against No. 14 Indiana in Des Moines, Iowa. Woods helped keep the Mocs in the game, grabbing three offensive rebounds that led to six second chance points.
He scored all five of his points in 37 seconds on back-to-back possessions. The play of the game came at 7:57 of the first half. This step-back three was big-time icing on his freshman-year cake.
Woods ended up with five points and three rebounds in the loss to the Hoosiers. He played with the poise and certainly proved he belonged on the floor.
Yep, the moment was never too big.
