Rain Pours During the Mocs' Second Day of Practice

| By:

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football team fought through a rain-soaked morning practice session at Scrappy Moore Field today.  Despite the bad weather, the Mocs slogged through an upbeat and enthusiastic two and a half hour slate of drills and preparation on their second day of fall training camp.

Senior fullback Shaun Kermah certainly didn't seem to mind the wet conditions, even though he was dripping wet and covered in mud after practice.  “A lot of guys start flying to the ball when it rains, because it is kind of fun when it rains,” explained Kermah.  “It is not as hot.  I will take the rain over the heat any day.”

Be sure to check out the full video of Kermah's post-practice interview at the top of the page.  Video highlights and an interview with head coach Russ Huesman are also available at the top of the page, along with a photo album from Sunday's action.

The Mocs kick-off the 2009 season with their home opener against Glenville State on Thursday, Sept. 3, at 7:00 p.m. (E.D.T.) at Finley Stadium.  Season tickets begin at $22 for youth, alumni, faculty and staff and can be purchased at the UTC Ticket Office – (423) 266-MOCS (6627) – or online at GoMocs.com by clicking here.

With some student-athletes taking final exams and finishing summer classes, Chattanooga will have early sessions all next week.  Monday's practice begins at 7:00 a.m. (E.D.T.) on Scrappy Moore Field.  For a full practice schedule, visit the football page on GoMocs.com or click here.
