JACKSONVILLE, Fla..---Chattanooga's women's golf team completed the three-day JMU/Eagle Landing Invitational in eighth place at Eagle Landing at Oakley Plantation. Two Mocs, Emma de Groot (2nd) and Maria Juliana Loza (T7th), finished in the top 10.
de Groot's one-over par 217 placed her three shots behind Hailey Koschmann of Illinois who claimed medalist honors at 214 (-2). Loza's seventh-place finish (224) is the second best of her career.
It is the 16th top 10 of de Groot's career, while Loza now has two. It's also the low 54-hole total for each in 2009-2010.
USF won the team title as its final round 299 ended its tourney at 898. Illinois finished second at 904, while Central Arkansas ended up third at 906.
Moa Duf completed her 54 holes tied for 50th at 234. Christine Wolf and Katie Taylor rounded out the Mocs scoring at 243 and 253, respectively.
Abby Bools of ECU finished third at four-over par 220. Loza tied for seventh with three others at eight over.
The Mocs return to the course March 22-23 at the John/Kirk Panther Intercollegiate in Atlanta.
