ROSTER CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.---The Chattanooga Mocs men's golf team is back in action Monday at the Wolfpack Fall Open. The tournament, played at Lonnie Poole Golf Club in Raleigh, N.C., is shortened from 54 to 36 holes due to weather.
The squad heads into Monday's 18 looking to continue its improvement made from the Carpet Capital to the Janney VCU Shootout.
"We are looking for consistency," coach
Mark Guhne said. "We got off to a great start the last time out but didn't maintain that level of play. It's a great lesson for our young team. We're prepared, working hard and just focused on getting better every week."
The lineup is the same for the second straight event. Juniors
Wes Gosselin and
Brooks Thomas, sophomores
Stuart Thomas and
Andrew Weathers and freshman
Lake Johnson round out this week's squad with
Kory Webb playing as an individual.

2014 Results: N.C. State won last year's event by nine shots over East Tennessee State. The Wolfpack shot 18-under 846 for the two days led by David Cooke who tied for medalist honors with ETSU's Adrian Meronik at -8 (208).

A Look Back & a Look AheadLast Time Out:
Stuart Thomas fired a career-low -4 to finish 4th at the Janney VCU Shootout. His 70-70-72 led the Mocs to a 5th-place ending at 875 topping VCU, Maryland and Virginia Tech among others. The squad opened with a -5 (283).
Next Up: The squad returns to the AutoTrader.com Collegiate. The event is a two-day, 54-hole affair, October 12-13 at Berkeley Hills Country Club outside Atlanta, Ga., in Duluth.

- Wolfpack Fall Open History: Year: Team Finish & Scores | Top Individual: First entry
- The team shot its first par or better round of 2015-16 in the opening round at VCU. The counting cards of 69 (B. Thomas), 70 (S. Thomas & Weathers) and 74 (Gosselin) totaled 5-under par 283.
- S. Thomas had a fantastic two days with twin 70s over day one's 36 holes and a final round 72. His 4-under 210 is a new career best in recording his first top 5 by finishing fourth.
- B. Thomas posted his first career round in the 60's opening with a 3-under 69 at VCU.
- Weathers' tie for 24th at VCU marks two consecutive years opening with top 25s.
- Gosselin got the season off to a fantastic start ending up sixth at the Carpet Capital Collegiate. His even-par 216 came on a very treacherous Farm tract. His 72.00 average was more than four-and-a-quarter strokes better than the field's (76.29).
- Gosselin led the event in pars with 39. He tied for top scoring on par 3s playing the four at level par and was tied for third in par 4 scoring, also at E.
- Gosselin's top 10 was the eighth by a Moc in nine Carpet Capital appearances and the fifth of his career.
