Since its founding as Chattanooga University in 1886, The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) has developed an institutional excellence which rests on an unusual blend of the private and public traditions of American education. Through a partnership with the Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), our Office of Trademark Licensing monitors commercial and internal use of Chattanooga indicia, and is responsible for managing more than 600 licensees producing products bearing Chattanooga's indicia.

The Office of Trademark Licensing exists to protect and promote the indicia (marks, names, logos) of UTC. Individuals, groups and organizations, both on and off campus, seeking to use Chattanooga indicia must have prior approval from this office.
