• UTC is 3-1 with a 53-48 win over Southern Mississippi in overtime tonight. USM falls to 1-2 on the year.
 
• Chattanooga was 2-1 in the 2015 Preseason WNIT. Southern Miss was 1-2. Chattanooga is 4-4 all-time in the Preseason WNIT
 
• This was the Mocs first overtime game of the year. UTC's last overtime game was against ETSU in the SoCon final last year.
 
• The Mocs shot 42.9 percent (3-7) in overtime and held the Eagles to 1-of-6 in the extra frame. UTC outscored USM 9-4 in OT.
 
• UTC outrebounded Southern Miss 48-42 for the game and 8-3 in overtime. This was the Mocs' second game with more rebounds.
 
• After trailing by 13 points in the second quarter, USM went on a 17-3 run to take a 21-20 lead with 1:08 to play in the half.
 
• Southern Miss led 37-30 with 23 seconds to play in the third quarter. UTC put together a 14-6 run bookended by layups from Keiana Gilbert to give the Mocs a 44-43 lead with 2:07 to go in the game. It was their first lead since the 2:17 mark of the second quarter. USM tied it with a free throw to force OT.
