CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.---The Chattanooga Mocs men's golf team returns to the tee Monday at the Janney VCU Shootout. The two-day, 54-hole event starts with 36 holes at the Country Club of Virginia's Tuckahoe Creek Course before a final 18 on Tuesday.
"We're ready to get back out there," coach
Mark Guhne said. "This is a solid field…one that will be a good test for us. The course is supposed to be in great shape, especially the greens.
"We need to tighten a few things up and play smart but still aggressive. The talent is there, we need to manage our way around the course and post some strong rounds."
Junior
Wes Gosselin leads the way. He is coming off an impressive sixth-place finish shooting E for his 54 holes at the Carpet Capital Collegiate. His 72.00 average was more than four strokes better than the average score.
He is joined in the starting lineup this week by fellow junior
Brooks Thomas, sophomores
Stuart Thomas and
Andrew Weathers along with freshman
Lake Johnson.
Kory Webb is playing as an individual.
