Head Coach Jim Foster
Thoughts on the game:
"(Samford) are who they are and they are going to play a certain way.  In a lot of ways, they want to out-tough you, mentally.  They are going to make the same cuts throughout the course of the game.  Quite frankly, if you don't jump to the ball every time the ball goes from the strong side of the floor to the weak side, and you are now a weak side defender, and you stay with their player – which is what we did – against their cuts they are going to be open all of the time.  If you jump to the ball, they are not.  Over the course of the game, they have done this 40-some times.  Guess what?  If you are going to defend them, you are going to have to jump to the ball 40-some times and they are not going to score on that option.

"Something as frivolous and as easy to do as jump to the ball, move towards the ball, wasn't executed.  It's those little things.  When you play somebody like this they just come back on a daily basis and then all of the sudden that is who you are.  You are someone who is not playing consistently and not taking care of the details necessary.

"We know what our weaknesses are.  We know we are not a very good shooting team.  We know we are not a great three-point shooting team.  There are other ways to score in the game of basketball.  We have to have some players that we willing to take some mid-range shots, some of these 15-foot shots that we are very capable of making.

"Between the ears, we have to do a lot of growing.  Someone, quite frankly, has to establish themselves on the floor as a player the other players respect and listen to.  We will get better."
