2016-17 Chattanooga Mocs Women's Basketball
Post-Game Quotes
Nov. 17, 2016 – Indiana – Chattanooga, Tenn. – McKenzie Arena
Jim Foster, Chattanooga Head Coach
Opening statement after loss to Indiana.
"We played better. We did some good things. We play teams like this for a reason. When you have an opportunity to win a basketball game you have to close it out. We need to get more stops. They have five players that can score so it makes it tough."
Keys to trying to close out a game.
"The last five minutes of the game we needed to get stops. We were scoring, but they were scoring right back. We need to stop them from scoring."
On moving forward to the upcoming slate of games.
"It's evolving. We have to take care of our business. We have to mature in certain areas. And then we will go from there. Again, we are playing teams like this for a reason. The objective is to get smarter and tougher, and we need to get better at both. If we get better at these little things, then we will beat teams like this. You find out what those little things are playing good programs like this."
Keiana Gilbert, Jr.-G
On offense/defense turnaround.
"It's pretty frustrating. We know we can score and we know that defense wins these games. So we have to get better on defense and get stops."
Tomi Moren, Indiana Head Coach
Opening statement after win over UTC.
"This was a fantastic road win for our team tonight. We knew it was going to be a tremendous challenge on the road at UTC with their great home record. There's no quit in Chattanooga and we told our kids at every timeout that they won't give up. It was a really well played game with two really good teams. I'm just glad to get out of here with a win because there is no doubt this is a tremendously tough place to play (McKenzie Arena)."
On getting crucial plays down the stretch.
"We have an entirely veteran ball club. We spend time on both sides of the ball every day. When we needed to have critical stops we found a way to accomplish that. We are very grateful to have the veterans that we do and the poise they play with."
