Postgame Quotes at Louisville

Chattanooga Basketball Postgame Quotes
Chattanooga at No. 5 Louisville
KFC Yum! Center – Louisville, Ky.
Monday – Nov. 21, 2016

Head Coach Jim Foster
On playing well as the game went on tonight:
"The last two minutes of the first quarter and the second, third and fourth quarters, I thought we played hard.  I thought we came out afraid and that is nonsense.  We play great teams, this is just another one.

"We dealt with that and then you have to make up your mind how hard you are going to play.  How much you are going to push and how much are you going to help each other.  We did a much better job of that.

"Now it is a four-quarter job.  Understand, that is the way you are supposed to practice.  That is the way you need to be every day and we will grow from that.

"It is not getting any easier.  We need people there on Friday.  We need a big crowd on Friday.  We are playing a really, really good basketball teams.  We are bringing really, really good basketball teams into Chattanooga.  I would like to see folks there."

On the play of Queen Alford:
"She needs to just be aggressive and take advantage of opportunities."

On the play of Jasmine Joyner:
"
Jas really struggled with some point-blank shots early.  She just needs to slow down.  Her energy with 15 rebounds, seven blocks and three steals is just terrific, but she had some very makeable shots.
She has a tendency to just get excited.  She is an excitable kind of person, but she has to get that under control.  You can't be excited on offense.  You have to be relaxed on offense."

On the overall effort of the team:
"
I thought our effort was better.  I thought we played harder.  Against a team that dominates the boards, we were even with them on the boards.  With our foul situation, we played a really soft, aggressive man-to-man and that made a difference.
We rushed a lot of our threes early and that was due to their quick ness.  From the point of view of an experience that can make us a better team coming in here and playing as hard as we played, that is a good sign.  Understating that we have more teams like this still to play.  If we can get this kind of mentality that that is who we are, we are going to be successful."
