"The reason you play this team, in my opinion - I want my team to experience their intensity and their discipline in the framework of how they play. 

"I liked our intensity tonight.  I thought we played hard.  I think we played harder tonight than we have in any game this year, but the little things that we do get manifested in a negative way against a team like Connecticut. 

"For example, we had a player go for two steals as the first half is winding down and that resulted in four points for Connecticut.  Instead of playing sound defense … We are not a try to make things happen team.  It is move the ball and try to take advantage of opportunities."

"I think we learned some things tonight and I think they feel better about their effort tonight.  But the gap between us and the four-time defending national champion is significant.  The objective is the intensity.  How hard are they playing?  So, I like what I saw in that regard and we will grow accordingly." 

On the experience of playing against UConn:
"They are the best players in the country.  I thought we did a decent job defensively (on Samuelson).  19 points on 18 shots - that is a lot of shots to produce 19 points.

"Some good things in terms of effort.  We are not a very good shooting team right now, but last year at this time we were not a very good shooting team.  We became a very good shooting team."
