CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's indoor track and field team will head to Birmingham, Ala., for the Samford Invitational this Friday.
Junior
Jessica York (Normandy, Tenn.) will be in the second heat of the Mile with junior Katie (Ray) DeMars (Knoxville, Tenn.), senior
Keeley Stewart (Winchester, Tenn.) and sophomore
Emily Drouin (Verona, Ontario) in the fourth heat.
Senior
Makala Diggs (Box Elder, S.D.) will run the 400 meter while senior
Kiaana Howard (Nashville, Tenn.) and freshman
Mercedes Bright (Kingsport, Tenn.) will be in the 200 meter dash.
Sophomore
Maddison Melchionna (Afton, Tenn.) will run the first heat of the 800 meter while junior
Hannah Chamblin (Memphis, Tenn.) will be in the second heat. Freshmen
Madison Watson (Chattanooga, Tenn.) and
Haley Morris (Lenoir City, Tenn.) will be in the third while senior
Helenka Kis (Columbia, Tenn.) and sophomore
Chandler Rogers (Loudon, Tenn.) will represent the Mocs in the fourth heat.
Junior
Teghan Henderson (Pickering, Ontario) will move back into the distance races, running the 3000 meter along with sophomore
Anna Kate Chance (Columbia, Tenn.). Men's cross country runner
Paul Stuart (Brentwood, Tenn.) will make the trip to run in the 3000 meter race.
Senior
Nicole Sumida (Chattanooga, Tenn.) will compete in the high jump and the women will have a team in the 1600 meter relay.
The Mocs are still working through some injuries as they head toward the Southern Conference championships. This race will take place at the same location at the conference meet and will serve as a good tune-up for the event.
