Basketball Reseating Information

As many of you are aware, the UTC Athletic Department transitioned to a periodic reseating model for Basketball season ticket holders when the installation of the new seating was completed in the McKenzie Arena during the summer of 2013. As this season comes to a close, we wanted to remind you that we will be reseating Basketball season ticket holders for the 2016-17 home schedule. 
 
What is a reseating?
During years in which we reseat basketball, all season ticket holders are required to select new basketball seating locations at McKenzie Arena. During reseating years we do not offer the option of keeping the seat location you had last year- you must reselect seats. If your current seats are available at your time of selection, you may then have the option of selecting those seats again.
 
Why are we having a reseating?
We will be conducting a reseating every few years so that donors can have the best possible seating options as a benefit of their Mocs Club priority points. The last reseat took place after the installation of new seats prior to the 2013-14 season. Since that time our donors and season ticket holders have gotten to know the layout of the Arena and have expressed likes and dislikes pertaining to different areas. Reseating also allows donors to move groups together or add seats that were not needed in past years.
 
Many donors choose a reseating as the best time to look at upgrading their gifts in order to better their seat location. This is very important for us as we must continue to raise funds in order to pay for student-athlete scholarships. A full student-athlete scholarship, including tuition, room, board, books and fees, is now valued at over $30,000. Without gifts to the Mocs Club to help fund scholarship expenses, our student-athletes could be negatively impacted.
 
How does the reseating work?
All Mocs Club gifts are due no later than Friday, July 1, 2016 for inclusion in the reseating process. Donors will then be contacted beginning the second week of July via phone, mail and email with their scheduled seat selection appointment time. In order to effectively communicate your selection appointment in a timely manner, it is important to provide up-to-date and accurate contact information. To update your contact information, simply update your Mocs Club renewal (will be mailed out in March) or contact our offices at (423) 425-4233 or mocsclub@utc.edu
 
Your seat selection appointment will take place at the Arena during the first week of August. You will be given a specific appointment time to arrive which is based on your Mocs Club priority ranking. At this time, you will able to select your seats at the Arena (either in-person or by sending someone in your place) or online via a special link that will be provided to you. If you are unable to make it to the arena, you will be able to log-in using your Mocs Club account information and access all remaining seats when it is your time to pick from the comfort of your own home or office.
 
What's my next step?
As we draw an end to this fiscal year for UTC Athletics, we will soon be sending out Mocs Club renewals beginning in March. We wanted to provide you with this information as you are considering your giving level for the 2016-17 fiscal year. Your season ticket renewals will be mailed out beginning May 1, and you will have until the renewal deadline of July 1to renew your season tickets and Mocs Club gift to be considered for the reseating process.
 
Please note that your renewal will not have an exact seat location, as you are purchasing seats according to pricing level (Premium Reserved or Gold Circle/Endzone).
 
Important Dates:
March 1- Online renewals available
March 15- Mocs Club renewals will be mailed
May 1- Basketball season ticket renewal/order forms will be mailed
July 1- Hard deadline to receive all Mocs Club gifts and season ticket orders to participate in the reseat            
Week of July 11-15- Appointment times will be distributed via mail, phone & email
Week of August 1-6- Seat selection appointments
