The fall schedule features seven scrimmages at Frost Stadium, including the RBI Club Fall Classic.
The Chattanooga Mocs softball team announced its fall schedule, featuring seven scrimmages at Frost Stadium, including the annual RBI Club Fall Classic.
"This is an opportunity for us to see our players, especially brining in seven new bodies this year," said coach Frank Reed. "We have a lot to find out about them and this will give us a chance to see where we stand."
UTC opens the fall season at Frost Stadium on Friday, Sept. 23 against Roane State at 5 p.m. in a 10-inning format. Following that, the Mocs will face West Georgia Tech in a double-header on Saturday, beginning at 11:00 a.m. with a 1:00 p.m. first-pitch time for game two, both games will be seven innings.
The following weekend, Sept. 30 & Oct. 1, Chattanooga will host the RBI Fall Classic at Frost Stadium. The Mocs will open up the Classic against Chattanooga State at 6 p.m. on Friday and then will play two on Saturday with the first game against Cleveland State at 11 a.m. followed by a 1 p.m. start against Lincoln Memorial to close out the tournament.
UTC will play a 10-inning game against Lee University on Friday, Oct. 7 at 5:30 p.m. at Frost Stadium to conclude their fall outer-squad scrimmages.
"The fall schedule allows us to see our new position players and gives us a concept on where we think we want to go during the spring," added Reed. "It gives a look at our strengths and deficiencies and what we need to work on during individual workouts for the upcoming season."
The Mocs will complete their fall schedule by hosting their annual Blue & Gold Game, an inter-squad matchup on Saturday Oct. 15 at 11 a.m. Admission is FREE and includes a cookout hosted by the Chattanooga RBI Club at 1 p.m. The full fall schedule can be found below.
