University of Tennessee at Chattanooga sophomore
Caroline Hall advanced to the finals of the Grey Draw, leading the Mocs at the USC Upstate Fall Invite in Spartanburg, S.C., today. Sophomores
Delaney Edwards and
Sydney Patton are also in the main draw finals, winning in doubles action.
Hall opened with a (6-2, 6-0) win over Campbell's Alexandra Nicoara. She then defeated Western Carolina's Jordan Strickland by the same score in the semis. Hall faces Queens Carlotta Nassi in tomorrow's finals.
Edwards and Patton rallied late in their match against Furman's Kozarov and Bride. They were down 5-2 in the tiebreaker before winning five straight points to advance to the Green Draw finals (7-6 (5).
"It was a long day for the team but they fought hard," stated head coach
Chad Camper. "It is great to see
Caroline Hall improving in every match, and she will have a real test in the finals.
"Edwards & Patton had an amazing win against Furman. They showed a lot of guts and went for their shots. We have had a couple of tough loses, but sometimes you can learn more when you lose then when you win. The team has improved, and we look forward to the finals tomorrow."
