TEAM
- The Mocs dropped a 30-10 Southern Conference game at Mercer today … UTC falls to 1-6 overall and 1-3 in SoCon action. Mercer improved to 4-3 and 3-2 in league play.
- Mocs are 18-8-1 all-time against Mercer, but just 2-2 since the Bears joined the SoCon in 2014 … UTC has lost both of its two games at Five Star Stadium.Â
- The Mocs had one turnover today, an interception in the second half … UTC is -10 in turnovers for the season … -8 last three games … third game in a row UTC has not forced a turnover.Â
- Defense allowed 82 yards rushing today, 2.4 yards per carry. That performance came after a combined 512 yards (256 per game) over the last two.
- Defense matched its season-high with seven tackles for loss but with zero sacks. Also turned in seven against Western Carolina (4 sacks) and UT Martin (1).
- The running attack showed signs of life gaining 82 yards on 22 carries. Three sacks dropped the net to just 44. Third time this season the Mocs have posted less than 50 rushing yards.Â
- 11 penalties for 97 yards are both season-highs … most penalty yards in a game since getting 100 against Liberty on Nov. 13, 2004.Â
- Mocs allowed 232 passing yards, tying for the most given up this season (LSU).Â
- The Mocs were without six potential starters for the game in QBs

- 22-39 for 206 yards and one INT.
- Second career start for the true freshman.
Khayyan Edwards – So.-LB
- Career-high six tackles.

- Career-highs and team-highs with six catches for 56 yards.
- 20-yard catch in third quarter.
Derek Mahaffey – Jr.-DL
- Career-high and game-high with nine tackles.
- Included 2.0 TFLs and one hurry.
Alex Trotter – Jr.-RB
- Career-long 12-yard run on his first carry of the game (3
rd quarter).Â
- Only carry of the game.

- Career-long 44-yard FG in the second quarter was a career long … previous best was from 31.Â
