Postgame WBB Quotes - UT Martin

Chattanooga Basketball Postgame Quotes
Chattanooga vs. UT Martin
McKenzie Arena - Chattanooga, Tenn.
Saturday – Dec. 2, 2017

Jim Foster, Head Coach
On holding teams down defensively.
"There's no formula for that. Very rarely we do what we did against Auburn [outscore them 16-0 to start game]. Throughout the course of the season you play games like that and games like this. It's a mindset. We started to guard the stuff that hurt us early on. We took the post game away from them and it made a big difference. Offensively, we just need to move the ball and we'll get shots. I was happy with the adjustments some of our players made defensively. "

On finding ways to win against tough teams.
"We know we can win games in a variety of ways. Whether we have a big lead or we're behind. If you play a weak schedule you're not helping anything. I'd rather play name recognition and rather that people start to understand that Chattanooga is recognized. And you don't do that by not playing people."

On what worked in the second half.
"I think our ball movement was a little bit better and that created opportunities for us to get to the line. We could then break them down off the dribble."

On three 20 point scorers.
"It means we were throwing the ball to the right three. They made some big shots and took the responsibility amongst themselves to be aggressive."

Aryanna Gilbert, Sr.-G.
On changing game plan in second half.
"They hit a lot of their shots. We had to change our game plan because of that. We needed to front he4 post and try to get out on their shooters."

On ball movement in offense.
"I feel like we're looking for our shots and not being as passive. I think we came into this year with the mindset that we need to score more and be an offensive threat."

Lakelyn Bouldin, So.-G
On finding open look shots.
"It was my teammates. A lot of my shots were set shots and that was because of them. I was standing out on the three point line and they did a good jon of finding me open."

On distributing the ball.
"It was very important, working in practice on making the extra pass. It's important to incorporate that and carry it over to the game."

On overtime efforts.
"We played better and shared the ball as a team. The intensity was a lot better and we grinded a little bit more."
