Postgame Quotes
Chattanooga vs. Wofford
Senior Day | Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017
Chattanooga, Tenn. | McKenzie Arena
Â
Chattanooga head coach Jim Foster
Â
On this being the first class he has seen through
"This class identified themselves as winners. Their freshman year we were in Hawaii and a bunch of veteran players thought they knew more. I wasn't happy with our seniors so I sat them, and I put out Taylor Hall and a bunch of freshman and we went from being down 20 to winning the game. So they got it early and have had it ever since. Oh yeah they played, they did a lot of little things Moses made a couple of threes. It was a good day all around."
Â
Â
On the Mocs' offensive play
"That happens when you play with your head up and a lot of times they seem to go down when they drive, and we work pretty hard to having them play with their head up so they can see what's in front of you and make decisions and I think that those little things. Sometimes in the middle of a game our drills break out and you can identify them. Sydney's was a two on one version of our fast break drill. She came in and dropped a bounce pass to Jas so these are just little things we do on a daily basis."
Â
On the fewest turnovers and fewest opponent rebounds
"I thought we had an advantage on the boards we were gonna take advantage of it. I thought we rebounded as a team very well. I mean obviously Jas is going to get x-number but other people will be going after the ball. I thought Moses had two good offensive rebounds and made good decisions with them. That sequence where we got two offensive rebounds we kept the ball for about a minute when they wanted the ball."

Senior Jasmine Joyner
Â
On what it means to win the game and claim the title
"Just stepping up and being a leader. The season came by really fast, from the hard season and schedule it paid off. We just need to continue to grow and get ready for next week."
Â
On doing today what they didn't do against Wofford in the first game
"Yeah, towards the end of the season we started talking more on defense, then if something happened we took care of it after the possession. We're getting better at talking and having more leaders come on the floor, if it's the starters or the bench players, we're getting a lot of energy. So, yeah, a lot of the things we didn't do when we played Wofford the first round, we definitely did today."
Â
On playing your last home game
"No, it didn't hit me. I kept telling myself to try and cry, but it hasn't hit me yet."
Â
On what it means to win and get the top tournament seed
"It's tournament time. Maybe I could have said that my freshman year, but now, whoever we play, is going to be a tough game."
Â
On a strong non-conference schedule
"I'm thankful for it. We've been to big arenas, small arenas. There was times we had to bring our own energy because you can hear everything on the court. We played every good player. UConn, Indiana, Green Bay, we've played a lot of good teams. It prepared us and made us better as a team."
Â
On the energy of senior day
"I think the energy from Furman carried over to this game. We had a lot of energy from Furman and we were hyped up. And today we had a lot of energy and it was definitely fun especially being out there and to play with my seniors."
Â
Â
Senior Moses Johnson
Â
On playing her last home game
"I was more worried about taking care of business, us winning, and taking care of this game to get prepared for the next game. I don't think it has hit me yet either. I'm still tuned in, and so is the team, on getting the season complete and accomplishing an everyday goal."
Â
On team contribution
"I think it's a big deal when everybody is doing their job. We have a lot of different components when it comes to players. When everyone is doing their job, it makes the flow better."
