- Chattanooga lost its second straight overtime game 75-71 at Mercer…Mocs are 6-13, 0-6 in the Southern Conference…Bears move to 9-9, 2-3.
- First time since 1999 with back-to-back overtime games…def. ETSU 85-74 on Jan. 11 before losing 62-61 to Appalachian State on Jan. 14.
- Third time in four years the meeting in Macon went extra time…UTC lost 75-72 in 2015 before a 72-66 triumph in 2016.
- Led 30-28 at the half closing the first half on a 12-2 run…limited Mercer to just 1 FG over last 7:45…2nd straight game taking lead into intermission.
- Previous two games, the Mocs out-scored their opponents (Furman & The Citadel) 122-117 over the first 30 minutes before falling away 34-66 over the remainder of the games…Mercer led 53-45 with 10:00 to play tonight…UTC out-scored its hosts 21-13 to send it to OT…37-21 in the last 10 minutes of each half, Mercer led 45-29 combining the opening 10 of each period in regulation.
- +21 (30-9) scoring margin from 3pt range tonight…Mocs went 10-29 (34.5%) to 3-12 (25.0%) for the hosts.
