Head Coach Jim Foster
On the closing spurt to take control of the game:
"I thought that at some point we would get to be cohesive.  The reality is sickness, illness, discombobulation, different people, freshmen, trying to figure out what we got.  We were sounder, we guarded.  Communication was better and we ratcheted it up on the defensive end.

"Then offensively, we were more patient and taking advantage of opportunities that were there."

On the play of the freshmen in the second half:
"Bria is a player that does a lot of Stat things.  She made a three.  She got a layup on a back-cut, she blocked three shots, she had a couple of rebounds, she had an assist, she had a steal, she gets her hand on a lot of basketballs.  Her length, people think they are open for a three and she gets a piece of a lot of balls.

"It is going to be this way.  The freshmen, we need them to mature.

"They are not going to get the opportunity to do it in games until you can consistently do it in practice.  Show me on a daily basis that is what I will have the opportunity to coach that in a game."

"There are peaks and valleys along the way.  Brooke was playing terrific and goes home for Christmas and gets the flu.  She is knocked out for five or six days, now we get her back in the flow and she is going to help us."

Thoughts on others stepping up in the game:
"
It is nice to win a game … Lakelyn did not play very well and she knows she didn't play very well.  To have her sit on the bench and then we went with a small lineup and I thought that paid dividends."

On so few fouls in the game:
"
Since we got here, we have not committed many fouls in the second half. That is a huge stat.  We committed six fouls and they only took two foul shots.  They are not getting into the bonus and they are not getting free opportunities.  When you win a game by as few points as we did, that is huge."

On the stronger play in the fourth quarter:
"
What we started doing in the fourth quarter was rebounding.  Everybody took responsibility.  Even though we had the smaller lineup, we did a much better job.

"We played hard, for sure.  I thought Kei had and absolutely terrific game.  I though Ari had a real workman-like game.  She took advantage of opportunities."
