TEAM
- The Mocs posted a 78-71 win over Samford tonight … snaps an eight-game slide … UTC gets its first SoCon win to improve to 7014 overall and 1-7 in league play.  Samford falls to 7-14, 3-5 SoCon.

- 1st SoCon win of the season...last was Feb. 15, 2017 at VMI, Saturday night's opponent, 74-68.

- UTC led by 17 (66-49) with 7:11 left to play before Samford went on a 20-5 run over the next 4:14 to cut the lead to 71-69.

- Makinde London had 19 rebounds in the game … third most in a game in school history … most in a SoCon regular season game … two better were 21 by Mindaugas Katelynas vs. Appalachian State in the SoCon Tournament on March 4, 2005 in McKenzie Arena and 20 by Vincent Robinson vs. Tennessee State (OT) on Dec. 29, 1988.

- Mocs were 21-26 from the FT line (80.8%) … second-most FTs made this season (23 at TTU on 12/17).

- 55 rebounds is the most since getting 56 against Reinhardt on Dec. 21, 2012 … most against a DI opponent since 56 against Longwood on Dec. 29, 2011 … most in a SoCon game since 56 against Appalachian State on Jan. 20, 1993.     

- +26 rebound margin is most since +27 (54/27) vs. Hiwassee on Nov. 14, 2014 … most against a DI opponent since +29 (49/20) in SoCon Tournament win over Georgia Southern on March 5, 2009 … most in the SoCon Regular Season since +28 (59/31) in 85-55 home win over Western Carolina on Jan. 12, 2008.

- Mocs turned 14 offensive rebounds into a 15-2 advantage in second-chance points.

- Mocs committed a season-high 22 turnovers … first time with 20+ this season.  

- Despite a 22-10 turnover ratio, Samford only outscored UTC 19-13 in points-off-turnovers.

- UTC forced Samford into six turnovers in the first eight minutes of the game … Bulldogs only had four the rest of the way. 

- 15-point halftime lead (37-22) is the largest in a Mocs SoCon game this season...2nd highest in a DI game (26 vs. Alabama State)…led at the half the last four games.

- Samford is the longest-running series in school history at 96 meetings. This is just the 22nd matchup (16-6) since the Bulldogs joined the SoCon in 2008-09 … Mocs lead overall 58-38 … 40-12 in Chattanooga.

- Played all 40 minutes for the third time.
- Third time with 20+ points … all in last six games.

Makale Foreman – So.-G
- 13 points on 3-11 shooting, 3-9 from behind the arc and 4-5 from the FT line.
- Third time in last four games in double-figures … ninth this season.

- Second career double-double with 21 points and a career-high 19 rebounds.
- Shot 7-15 from the field, 1-2 from 3-pt. range and 6-6 from the FT line.
