Chattanooga Basketball Postgame Quotes
Chattanooga at Western Carolina
Cullowhee, N.C.
Thursday – Feb. 1, 2018
Head Coach Jim Foster
Opening thoughts on the game:
"For the most part, we played a pretty good game. Some of the things we have been preaching and harping on, we got better at. Kids are just starting to understand how we want them to play. Having a game with Ari and Lakelyn not shooting the ball well and still being able to win as comfortably as we did, other people contributing in scoring is a big deal."
On the play of the freshmen:
"They are going to be very good players. I have said over and over again, we are not going to let you on the floor until you are doing the things at a certain level. To me it is an injustice to young players who come in with bad habits, significant bad habits or a lot of bad habits, to let them go out on the floor because they will just continue. You just have to wean them of some of those bad habits. It is fortunate for them that it has started to happen, as a result they are getting some more meaningful minutes and doing some very good things."Â
On career win No. 900:
"I have coached some good and great players. I have had terrific assistants. If you hang around long enough with that combination, good things are going to happen. More good things than bad."   Â
"I'm just happy it's over. More people were talking about it. Clandestine conversations were taking place that they don't think I can see. I'm happy for the team."

On getting his 900th win it at Chattanooga
"I'm fortunate that I got an opportunity to come here and coach. I'm fortunate that David [Blackburn, former Chattanooga AD] had the courage to hire me.
Â
Was there pressure on the team to get the win?
We haven't been playing that well, if you want to give that as a reason we should be better the rest of the way.
