Head Coach Lamont Paris
How much are you wanting to maybe deviate from your defensive principles in the second half when you have a guy like Fletcher Magee?
"Maybe one possession we altered something, but not really. He had a good night shooting the ball. The one that hurt us the most, we had a five-point play. We come down, we turn the ball over, they kick ahead in transition, he catches and shoots. It's hard to get back and get matched up when you're in scramble mode. He dribbles and shoots in Josh's face. He dribbles and shoots in another guy's face. When that's part of the scouting reports, there's no deviation from that. How we guarded was a deviation of how we said we would guard him. Out of what they did, he caught the ball off the screen, which was a result of how we guarded it, put it on the floor and take a really difficult shot off the dribble. Again, on our defender who had recovered and did not guard him closely enough to make him do something that we said he doesn't do as well. Then sometimes we did play it well. He took a very difficult shot and made it."

On Nat Dixon's home return…
"He was really contributing to organization on our end and helping make sure we got what we wanted to get. Even times when I was flustered with a couple of no calls, he actually got me back into the moment, which I wasn't happy with at the time. But he got me back in the moment to make sure we knew what we were doing on the offensive possession. He tried to time it out. I wanted to make sure we had plenty of time on that possession we knew what we were going to do. I thought he played well."

On today's offense….
"Overall decent, well enough. We talked before the game, specifically about our energy and our effort. I thought it was fantastic at times. I don't normally hear the crowd at all, my focus is always on the play. But we had one play where everyone hit the floor except me and we ended up with the ball. I heard our fans cheer after that and I thought it was great. I thought our energy was fantastic but overall offensively, I thought we did a pretty good job of getting shots that we liked. There were enough times where we didn't and we turned the ball over unnecessarily. I wish we could have been more efficient at the free throw line; which is a place we've been doing a pretty good job. I thought overall we did a pretty good job offensively. As far as I evaluated on the shots that we get and what that looks are on each possession. Finishing of plays we did not do a great job of."

How do you all try and stay focused when you're playing against a guy like Fletcher Magee?
"Guys like that, especially great shooters, it only takes a couple of them to get them started. He's a great shooter, and he has an awkward shot so it's really hard to play defense on him. Guys were there, and he just kept knocking down shots. We were talking to each other the whole game. At the end of the day, he's going to make some of those. We just have to capitalize where we can and we're still in the game all the way through."

How hard are those screens to get through?
"With their offense and the way it's set up, he's running off screens the whole possession. Credit to their bigger guys, they play their roles well. They set really hard screens and made it hard for us to chase. I felt we did a good job chasing. He knocked down a lot of crazy shots so you have to hand it to him. At the end of the day I'm proud of my guys, they kept playing hard and we kept fighting until the very end. If we keep that same energy and minimize some of the mistake we made I feel like it will turn out well for us."

Makale Foreman, So.-G
How frustrating is it to be close but still come out short?
"We're going to battle either way; winning or losing. We have to keep playing hard and stick with each other and know it's going to come out good for us in the end."

What they main takeaway going into the last two away games?
"Stick to the process, stay to the course of this, keep playing hard out there and bring good energy on offense and defensive side going in. We're trying to get these last two away games to give us some momentum going into the conference tournament and then to see how it plays out from there."
