TEAM
- 81-77 win over Illinois in Springfield…3-0 for the young season, the Fighting Illini are 1-3.
- Chattanooga starts 3-0 for the first time since 1997-98…opened season with wins over Wofford, College of St. Francis (Ill.) and Presbyterian.
- Came back from nine-point deficit in the second half…trailed 69-60 with 6:26 to play…scored on seven of the next nine possessions including five straight 3pt for a 19-5 run (5:05).
- 2-0 vs. Illinois…both matchups at neutral sites with the first propelling the Mocs into the 1997 Sweet 16 in Charlotte.
- 1st time beating two teams from power 5 conferences in the REGULAR SEASON since 1991-92 (Mississippi State/Auburn)…3rd time overall also turning the trick in 1985-86 (Mississippi State/Ole Miss)…1st time winning two power 5 road games in the same season.
- Led 39-32 (7 pts) at the half…smallest lead at the break this season…led at intermission all three contests.
- One of three neutral site games in the regular season…play Alabama State and either Chicago State or Jacksonville State next Friday/Saturday in Niceville, Fla.
- Led for 29:30 tonight, the shortest amount of time ahead on the season...came into game leading 74:05 of a possible 85 minutes this season, or 87.1 percent of the time.
- Six Mocs in double figures…last time five or more in double digits was at Samford on Jan. 5, 2015.
- 50 percent shooting from the field tonight making 29 of 58…53.8 percent (14-26) in the second half, 53.3 percent (8-15) from 3pt range.
- Tied season high (Hiwassee) with eight blocks…4 from Justin Tuoyo (more below).

Justin Tuoyo, Jr.-F
- 12 points on 4-6 FG and 4-5 FT.
- 4 blocks for second straight game…4th all-time in career blocks at UTC with 112 passing Neil Ashby (2001-02) who collected 110 in his two seasons.
- 31st time in 35 contest he's recorded multiple blocks.
 
Greg Pryor, Jr.-G
- 10 points and three steals.
- SoCon leader in thefts entering game…now has 12 (4.0/game).
 
Chuck Ester, Jr.-F
- 12 points and two assists in 18 minutes off the bench.
- 5-5 from the field, 2-2 from 3pt range with both 3s coming in pivotal five-minute stretch of second half.
 
Tre' McLean, Jr.-G
- 11 points, seven rebounds and two blocks.
- Hit 3pt to tie game at 74-74 with 2:25 to go and iced the game with two FTs with 11.1 left.
 
Duke Ethridge, Sr.-F
- 10 points and five rebounds in 16 minutes off the bench.
- 3-5 FG, 2-3 3pt and 2-2 FT.
- FTs with 6:09 on the clock in the second half started the comeback win.
