Post-Game Quotes vs. Arkansas State
Maui Jim Maui Invitational Mainland Regional Bracket
West Point, N.Y. – Nov. 20 – Christl Arena
Matt McCall, Head Coach
Thoughts on the loss to Arkansas State.
"We got off to a good start, and then just didn't have enough energy and lost to a team that played harder. At the end of the day, that's a disappointing piece. We didn't compete the right way and need to compete a lot harder...we have to get better. We have some time this week to get better and our guys understand that. It's really hard to win giving up 67% from three and 55% from the field."
The play of Justin Tuoyo.
"His approach has been so good. He plays as if something is on the line every time he suits up. I'm really proud of him. I think he has grown immensely since I've been here, and the sky is the limit for him."
On not giving up after falling behind.
"That was one area of the game I was proud of our team for. They didn't quit, they kept fighting. The last seven minutes of the game is how we need to play for the whole game. Arkansas State is a good team who plays hard and is trying to be where we have been. If you don't bring it for a second in this game, you can get beat. Hopefully, we can learn and grow from this and move forward."

Thoughts on the loss to Arkansas State.
"Arkansas State is a good team, good ball club that plays with a lot of energy. It was a long two days with a late game last night and an early game today, but that's no excuse for the way we played today. They played with a lot more energy than us for 40 minutes, there's no doubt about it. They just flat-out beat us."
On energy level.
"We have great players and good bench players. We just didn't play with enough energy for 40 minutes at all. We have to find it within us to play hard and with the energy that we have on this team for the whole game."
On the play of Justin Tuoyo.
"He's a great player. He always plays hard and is tough. We love feeding him that ball, so we try to get him the ball because he knows what to do with it."
