TEAM
- The Chattanooga Mocs scored an 85-59 win over VMI tonight.  The Mocs improved to 24-4 overall and 13-2 in SoCon action.  VMI dropped to 7-18 overall and 2-12 in league play.
- UTC is 12-0 at home for the first time since 1993-94 … 20th straight home win … 7th longest current streak in the NCAA.
 
- Mocs can clinch at least a share of the SoCon Regular Season Championship with a win over UNCG Saturday afternoon…game time is at 5 p.m., in the second half of a doubleheader with the women taking on Mercer at 2 p.m.
 
- UTC's 24 wins lead the nation … No. 1 Villanova and No. 8 Xavier are second with 23.
 
- Most wins in the regular season in school history … 24 wins is a new school record for the regular season … most total wins since 1996-97 NCAA Sweet 16 team won 24 ... that teams also counted victories over Georgia and Illinois … three wins shy of the school overall record of 27 set in the 1977 (27-5) and 1982 (27-4) seasons.
 
- 400th SoCon win … 400-222 (.643) … joined the league in 1978 … 243-67 (.784) at home.  
 
- Winners of 11 of the last 12, 19 of 21 and 21 of 24 games.
 
- The Mocs are 40-9 (.816) in league play since the start of 2013-14…22-2 (.917) at home.
 
- Lead the series 40-11…21-2 in Chattanooga…35-9 in SoCon regular season games.
 
- Sixth consecutive win over the Keydets and seventh in last eight meetings.
 
- Last 13-2 SoCon start? 1992-93 (14-2).
 
- No. 9 in this week's CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25.
 
- UTC was 33-59 from the field (55.9%) … 11th time shooting 50%+ from the field this season … most since 2004 … UTC has not lost when shooting 50% or better from the field.
 
- 21 assists … 5th time this season with 20+ … most since 2011.
 
- 10 offensive boards equaled 14 second-chance points … VMI only got five points on its nine offensive rebounds.
 
- Mocs dominated the glass 42-28 to improve to 17-0 when winning the battle on the boards.
 
- Fourth wire-to-wire win of the season.
 
Head Coach Matt McCall
- 24-4 to open his collegiate coaching career…best start by a UTC ball coach…next best over first 28 games? Mack McCarthy (1985-86) and Jeff Lebo (2002-03) both began 20-8.
 
INDIVIDUAL
Chuck Ester – Jr.-F
- 13 points tied a career-high.
- 5-7 shooting, 2-3 from 3-pt. range and 1-1 from the FT line.
- Played 16 minutes.
- Added two steals.
- Ninth game in double-figures.
 
Tre' McLean – Jr.-G
- 12 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.
- Third double-double of the season.
- Shot 5-10 from the field and 2-2 from the FT line.
- Added four assists.
 
Dee Oldham – Sr.-G
- Career-high and team-high 14 points.
- Shot 4-5 from the field, 3-4 from 3-pt. range and 3-3 from the FT line.
- Added five boards.
 
Greg Pryor – Jr.-G
- Tied for game-high with six assists.
- Seven points on 3-6 shooting, 1-3 from the 3-pt. range.
- Topped 800 career points (804).
 
Justin Tuoyo – Jr.-F
- 11 points on 5-6 shooting and 1-1 from the FT line.
- Tied a career-high with four assists.
- Added six boards, and four blocks in 20 minutes.
