Chattanooga Basketball Postgame Quotes
Chattanooga vs. Samford
U.S. Cellular Center – Asheville, N.C.
Friday – March 2, 2018
Head Coach Lamont Paris
Opening Statement:
"Our team really defended and played hard and stuck to our principles. I thought we competed at a really high level. When we compete, we're typically in the game. In this game, we made enough good decisions down the stretch. I can't say enough about how hard the guys competed and played for one another."
Â
About Rodney Chatman's return from injury:
"You never know how it's going to work (from practice). You get in the game, the adrenaline starts flowing and the ankle didn't seem to be as big a factor on the defensive end as I thought it'd be. He was able to fight through that. I thought he showed a high-level of toughness and played really well."
Â
Best team performance of the year?:
"I don't know. We've had a lot of ups and downs. We had the most on the line in this game because we were playing for survival. I thought this was the time we overcame adversity in the game the most."
Â
Rodney Chatman, So.-G
On how he felt coming in:
"I was feeling it a little bit. I warmed it up to see where it was and if I could go. It was good enough to where I could play and tolerate it."
Â
Makinde London, Jr.-F
About his performance:
"Coach (Paris) used the word perform. That fits guys a lot of different ways. For me, that's what I need to focus on every time. It's about more than making shots. It's about boxing out. It's about being in the right position defensively. It's sticking to our principles."
