Connie Day played on the men’s golf team as a junior and senior in 1963-64. She was the first woman to tee it up for the men’s team after finishing runner-up at the Tennessee State Women’s Amateur in 1962.
She went on to win four TGA State Women’s Amateur Championships and finish second five times. She won the TGA State Women’s Senior Amateur in 1993 and the TGA State Women’s Four-Ball in 1997. She played in her first of many U.S. Women’s Amateur Championships in 1967.
