Larry Barnett was the Mocs’ first Little All-American when he was named to the second team as a senior in 1965. That season, he averaged 22.3 points per game while leading UTC to a 16-10 overall record. It is still the third-highest scoring average in school history.
Barnett’s 36-point performance at Maryville in December of 1964 is still a top-15 scoring output in UTC’s record books. He also posted 29 rebounds against MTSU on Feb. 20, 1965, tied for the second-most boards in a game at UTC.
