Ralph “Ziggy” Zigner was an All-American wrestler for the Mocs from 1977-78.  He earned All-American honors by placing fifth at heavyweight in the 1977 NCAA Division II Tournament. 

Zigner is one of four Mocs to win three Southeastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (SEIWA) titles in a career.  He was also a Bronze Medalist at the 1977 World University Games in Sophia Bulgaria. 

Zigner helped lead UTC into Division I competition and the Southern Conference in 1978.  He won the SoCon title as a senior that year, while the Mocs took the team trophy.
