GAINESVILLE, Fla. ? Freshmen Emma de Groot and Christine Wolf placed in the top 25 at the 2008 Suntrust Lady Gator Invitational played at the 5,907 yard, par 70 Mark Bostick golf course on the University of Florida campus.
De Groot, who fired a 1-under 69 on Saturday, shot a 1-over 71 Sunday to finish tied for seventh with a three-day score of 7-over 217. Wolf, who was Chattanooga's top finisher on Friday, posted a 4-over 74 and a three-day total 222, tied for 21st.
Sophomore Kayla Stewart finished with a 78 on Sunday for a final total of 234 and Katie Taylor shot an 81 for a three-day mark 249. Freshman walk-on Milla Junni finished with a three-round total of 271.
The Lady Mocs shot their best round on Sunday with a 304 team score and a three-day score of 922. Host Florida finished with an 849 team total for a 9-over first place followed by Louisville with at 32-over 872. Wake Forest was third with a three-day score of 875 at 35-over.
Florida's Tiffany Chudy was the only player to post a below par score at 209. She fired a 1-under 69 on day one and then shot level par on each of the next two days. Louisville's Cindy LaCrosse was second with a 2-over 212 and Florida's Whitney Myers was third with a 213.
Chattanooga will return to action at the 2008 Pinehurst Challenge hosted by the College of Charleston at Pinehurst, N.C., March 9-11.
