Chattanooga Lady Mocs Head Coach Wes Moore:
Opening Statement:
“In the second half I think we showed some fight and some real energy. I decided that in the first media timeout in the second half to just let it all out, blood vessels bursting and all. Obviously they found it in the last 15 or so minutes. I was real proud the way they got out there and showed some effort.”
What happened in the second half?
“We weren't chasing them in the first, we were just following them and there is a big difference. After that timeout it changed. The kids decided that they wanted to play, that they wanted to win. Their shooters came off picks and we were there.”
“I grabbed Jenaya (Wade-Fray) and gave her a kiss down their on the stretch. She can bring it every night defensively and make the plays, and that is contagious. They can all catch on to that and turn the game up.”
Is this the type of win where you think you will see some growing up?
“I hope, I asked them wasn't this more fun? We have gotten them some confidence and are getting ready to go on the road so that will be the real test.”
How about the next few games down the road?
“It is scary on the road. It is a different environment and we can't afford to play like we did the first half. We have to bring it like we did the last 15 minutes.”
Senior Erin Ogan
What changed in the second half?
“Coach Moore pulled us over in a timeout and told us we had to want it, he couldn't want it for us. I think it lit something up in our rear ends.”
Was it on back of your mind that you had beaten them by 44 points earlier in the season?
“It was not in the back of my mind, but yesterday when we were reviewing and getting ready we knew that going in. Every game counts at this point, we have to come ready to play from the tip and I will be from now on.”
Junior Shanara Hollinquest:
“I think we all grew up a little bit tonight, Coach really pushed it in the timeout...really pushed it.
