
Lady Mocs Push Past Spartans Saturday Afternoon

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga women's basketball team used an 14-0 run late in the second half to propel themselves to a 58-48 Southern Conference win over UNC Greensboro Saturday afternoon at Fleming Gym.
The win moves the Lady Mocs to 16-6 overall and 12-1 in SoCon action to remain tied with Samford atop the conference leader board. The Spartans fall to 7-15 overall and 4-9 in theSoCon.

Ogan tallied her fifth double-double of the season with 14 points and a career-high tying 14 rebounds. Shanara Hollinquest led all scorers with 16 points on the night and had eight boards. Jenaya Wade-Fray was the third
After trailing briefly in the first few minutes of the game, Hollinquest hit one of two free throws to tie the game at 5-5 and Wade-Fray would follow with a 3-pointer to put the Lady Mocs on top for good. Hollinquest's free throw would start a 10-0 run that lasted 4:22 and stretch
In the second half, the Lady Mocs shot 41.7 percent and were 4-for-9 from the 3-point line making six on the night.
Wade-Fray and Tagan Hatchett each dished out five assists, Hollinquest grabbed three steals and Ogan added two blocked shots to raise her team-high total to 17.
UNC Greensboro was led in scoring by Gini Grimsley's 11 points, all in the second half. She had nine rebounds and two blocked shots. Lakiah Hyson had a team-best 10 rebounds and six points and TaShama Banner had seven points.
