TEAM
- The Lady Mocs improve to 2-3 on the season with a 76-61 win over Kennesaw State in the DoubleTree Classic tonight at the McKenzie Arena.
- UTC shot 46.7% from the field and was 54.5% (24-44) from inside the 3-pt. line.
- UTC held the Owls to just 31.3% shooting in the game...a season-low for a UTC opponent.
- The Owls did hit 11-29 attempts from 3-pt. range, including 6-10 in the first half...that is the most 3-pt. FGs UTC has allowed in a game this season.
- The 11 3-pointers from Kennesaw State tied a McKenzie Arena record set by Samford on Dec. 1, 2008.
- The Lady Mocs had a season-high five blocks.
- UTC had a season-high 18 assists on their 28 FGs and a season-low 14 turnovers in the game.
- Chattanooga outscored KSU 42-16 in the paint.
INDIVIDUAL
Freshman Michelle Davis
- Season-high 16 points on 6-9 shooting, 1-2 from 3-pt. range and 3-4 from the FT line
- Tied a season-high with eight boards
Freshman Erin Helton
- Season-highs with nine rebounds and four blocks off the bench
- First Lady Moc with four blocks since Alex Anderson had seven at the College of Charleston on Feb. 23, 2008.
Senior Shanara Hollinquest
- Season-high 26 points on 11-15 shooting, 4-9 from the FT line
- Season-high 12 rebounds
- Fourth double-double of the season and the 19th of her career
- Has 1,237 career points and is in 15th place all-time at UTC...needs 15 points to pass Tammy Dowdell (1992-94) and 20 points to pass Jan Cameron (1991-94) to move up to 13th place
Freshman Kiara Smith
- Season-high five points on 1-1 shooting from 3-pt. range and 2-2 from the FT line
Jenaya Wade-Fray
- Scored 13 points on 4-6 shooting, 1-2 from 3-pt. range and 4-5 from the FT line
- Has 163 career 3-pt. FGs to take over fourth place on UTC career list...needs eight more to pass Miranda Warfield (2000-04) for third all-time at Chattanooga
