Chattanooga Women's Basketball - Postgame Quotes
Chattanooga at Samford
Pete Hana Center - Birmingham, Ala.
Nov. 30, 2009
Head Coach Wes Moore
Thoughts on the game...
"We are just not very well coached right now. We are not very disciplined and we are not a team. We've got some individual talent but again, we are playing like individuals. We've got four freshmen playing a lot of minutes, but still we've got to do a better job of coaching and make sure we are on the same page. At some point they've got to step up and they've got to want to play and they've got to want to have energy."
"Again, opening night and some of our veteran players who were at the game said that it didn't look like they had energy or passion...we've got to find it quick because there is nobody in this league who is going to feel sorry for us. We have a lot of work ahead us."
On the play of Samford...
"You can't argue with it. Mike Morris does a great job. They are very well coached, very fundamental, very hard-nosed kids and they are going to get after you and play. We just did answer that call."
On outrebounding Samford 34-33...
"The rebound total was little deceiving since they didn't miss very many shots. They couldn't get any offensive rebounds when they are all going through the net. Like I said, they run their stuff, they do it very well. They hit their free-throws. They run the Princeton offense with a lot of back-door cuts and we just didn't defend it."
On defending Samford's offense...
"We didn't have a whole lot of time (to prepare), but we've had teams in the past that have had a day or day-and-a-half to pick this stuff up and do a decent job of taking away what the other team wants to do. We had no clue what to do tonight, especially the first half. We ended up starting the second half in zone, but they are just too good of shooters. They will make you pay. We went back to man and did a little better job in the second half, but still they are a great team. We have a long, long ways to go."
