Head Coach Wes Moore:
Opening Statement:
"The big stat at half time was we had two assists and nine turnovers. In the second half, we had twelve assists and five turnovers. At half time, we talked about Tenisha [Townsend] knowing her role. In high school, she was a scorer, but here we need her to be the quarterback, the one who delivers the ball to the scorers. I thought she did a much better job with four assists in the second half."
"We are having some kids grow up. Kayla Christopher hit some big shots for us. Obviously, Shanara [Hollinquest] and Jenaya [Wade-Fray] were the ones that gave us the big lift. Erin Helton played well and did some good things. I think we are going to continue to get better. We are still trying to spoon feed a few of those kids. Kylie [Lambert] is not playing the way she is capable yet. We have some kids that once they settle down and gain a little bit of confidence and are not so intimidated. They will be good players for us."
"Erin [Helton] has come a long way. She was throwing passes over head and hitting people on the fifth row at the base line. Now, she's learned to shoot it up there and she got a nice touch. She is doing some good things."
"This team needed this. We were down and not having any fun. As a matter of fact, I did a rap in the locker room. The main line was let's get back to winning so we can do some grinning. So we were grinning and that was good."
On Furman:
They've got Lee Stephens, she is unbelievable. She is who I voted pre-season player of the year. She does a great job getting to the foul line, that is what is frustrating. She is hard to keep in front of you without fouling her."
Senior Jenaya Wade-Fray:
Talk about the second half:
"I didn't want to lose again. It was a close game and we lost our last game, so we really needed to win. So, I wanted to do everything I could to help the team."
On feeling pressured to win:
"There was a lot of pressure since we are known to beat everyone in the conference and we beat them last year. We really wanted to beat them since they beat Samford, that definitely played into it."
Senior Shanara Hollinquest:
On the team coming together:
"We were just pepping each other up in the huddle saying we are not going to lose. We had eight minutes in the game and we said lets finish the game, since we haven't really finished one all season. We were determined to get a win."
On the team's performance:
"It really started on the defensive end. We really played better team defense that got us motivated for the offensive end. Hopefully, we will keep that streak up."
Freshman Kayla Christopher
On coming off the bench:
"I just tried to focus on being a spark tonight. Tonight was the first time that I've come off the bench this year. I just wanted to be a spark, whatever it took us to win. Obviously, we needed a win so I was just looking to do whatever I can to help the team."
On the team's performance:
"In the second, half we had a lot of assists. Obviously, we were looking to help each other more. Since the Samford lose, our focus has been to play more like a team because we haven't been helping one another out on defense. I think we did a really good job tonight."

Head Coach Sam Dixon
On Lakyn Ledford playing close to home:
"I believe that it is very special for her to come here and play close to home. She had a lot of family and friends here to support her and she played great. I was very happy with her, she played well, and I am very excited that she is playing as well as she is right now."
On the Lakyn Ledford/Megan Rollins matchup:
"I honestly did not know that they played against each other in high school, but it was a great battle between those two girls all night. Lakyn [Ledford] was excited to come here and play and she didn't disappoint."
On Shanara Hollinquest:
"We held her to the five points in the first half, but we let her get away from us in the second half. Losing her in the second [half] was the difference in the game. We tried to cover her, help against her, whatever we could do to slow her down, but it's hard to contain her for forty minutes. She is a great player and Chattanooga does a great job of getting her the ball. [Chattanooga] has such great shooters that it's hard to dig in on them. You just have to do what you can do and hope that she misses. She is just a phenomenal player."
