ON THE WIN
"It was a team effort. It's good to see some different people chip in. Michelle Davis had a good night tonight. It's good to see that. Erin's [Helton] been playing great. We've got some young kids that are coming around, but you're going to have some ups and downs. I think Kylie Lambert's coming on good and can do good things for us. Kayla [Christopher] has been playing well for us, so young players are stepping up and doing a good job. Jenaya's [Wade-Fray] playing really well right now and Shanara [Hollinquest] did a good job. Like you said it was a great team effort. I was hoping we could survive and hang in there. This team I hope is going to play better as they mature a little bit."
ON HOW THE TEAM HANDLED THE PRESS IN THE FIRST HALF AND SECOND HALF
"Our kids did a real good job in the first half against it and I thought we took care of the ball for the most part, but there late in the game we had a little bit different lineup and we turned it over a couple of times. We had to settle down some. Seventeen turnovers is nothing to write home about, but where we've been it's a start, a good improvement."
ON THE CROWD (1,846)
"I thought we had a good crowd tonight. I appreciate them all coming out. It makes for a good atmosphere for our team. I think we're very fortunate. We've got the best fans in the conference and to be honest with you, the best fan groups in the Southeast."
ON THE TEAM'S PLAY IN THE PAINT
"It was good. Erin [Helton] and MD [Michelle Davis] did a good job of scoring on the blocks. That takes the pressure off Shanara [Hollinquest]. I like this team. I'm sure we're going to have some ups and downs because of our youth, but at the same time I think we've got a lot of potential."

ON WHAT TONIGHT'S WIN MEANT FOR THE TEAM
SH: "It's a boost of confidence. Today, in film, we watched them celebrate, so Coach was telling us to make sure we're the ones to celebrate. So I think this was a great win."
MD: "It was fun. Everybody did great. Great win. The team did awesome. We were on a roll up there (New Jersey). It's a new year, a new team. We were having fun."
ON WHAT THE DIFFERENCE WAS IN THE GAME
SH: "I think it started with our defense. We talked about that coming into the game. We talked about if we played defense, then our shots would fall. I think that helped us through that game."
ON COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON CLOSING THE GAP LATE IN THE GAME
SH: "I think we have maturity enough to handle that situation. It's always scary, but I think we have maturity enough to keep our cool and play our game and come off on top."
WAS THIS A MUST WIN?
SH: "Yes. It was a must win. Coach has been talking about it non-stop. We need to take care of business on Monday (vs. Georgia Southern). When people play us, we're going to get their "A" game."
ON REBOUNDING
MD: "It is something he's been stressing. If you dominate the boards you have a good chance to win the game. We've been doing box-out drills in practice and I think things like that are paying off."
ON SCORING ALL 10 POINTS IN THE SECOND HALF
MD: "It was great passes from my teammates. We just got into the flow of things and had fun."
