Mocs Women's Golf Travels to Furman for Fall Finale

WHO: Christine Wolf. The senior leads the team in scoring average (74.00), birdies (26) and fewest bogeys (30). She is coming off a tie for 22nd finish at the Landfall Tradition which included wins over 10 top 100 golfers including one top 20, Tennessee Amateur Champ Calle Nielson. Wolf is currently just outside Golfstat's top 100 at No. 102.
WHAT: Lady Paladin Invitational - 54 holes (18 per day). This is the first appearance in the event for UTC.

HOW: The Mocs are the top ranked team in the field among the Division I schools. Two top 10 DII schools are entered with No. 1 Nova Southeastern and No. 10 Rollins making the trek up from Florida.

NOTES:
- UTC is looking to build on a strong final round at the Landfall Tradition. The 299 was just three strokes off the day's low round and bested seven top 25 programs (#5 UCLA - 1 stroke, #13 North Carolina - 6, #6 Duke - 17, #14 Michigan St. - 6, #15 Wake Forest - 3, #18 South Carolina - 14 and #23 Oklahoma St. - 10).
- The Mocs are looking to start stronger than in their previous events. Thus far, Chattanooga is averaging 304.0 strokes per first round, 302.0 in the second and 295.3 in the final round. Continuous improvement throughout an event is always the goal, but the Mocs need to get off to better starts.
- Chattanooga is the highest ranked Division I team in the field at No. 40 in Golfstat's rankings. Two of the top 10 DII teams are in the field in top-ranked Nova Southeastern and No. 10 Rollins.
- The Mocs are No. 30 in the nation in Par 5 scoring at 5.01 strokes. Maria Juliana Loza (Bucaramanga, Colombia) leads the team with a 4.78 average which No. 29 nationally.
- Loza has counted in 43 consecutive rounds, the longest current streak on the squad. She leads the team in pars with 125.
- Jordan Britt's (Dayton, Tenn.) performance at the Landfall Tradition was impressive. Not only did she set a new personal collegiate mark with her 69, she tied Loza for the team's best round this fall. She set a high with her six birdies in the final round. Her total of 11 ties Christine Wolf's total at the Mercedes-Benz Championship the previous week. Britt topped 17 golfers ranked in Golfstat's top 100 including one in the top 10 (No. 10 Stephanie Kono - UCLA) and Tennessee Amateur Champ Calle Nielson (Virginia).
- Christine Wolf (Igls, Austria) leads the team is scoring average (74.00), birdies (26) and fewest bogeys (30). She tied for 22nd at the Landfall Tradition at 225 ahead of 10 top 100 golfers. She was second on the squad behind Britt with eight birdies. Wolf has carded three or more birdies in six of her last seven rounds.
- Senior Emma de Groot (Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, Australia) leads UTC in fewest holes scoring double bogey or higher with seven. She had a streak of 66 consecutive counting rounds snapped in the first round of the Landfall Tradition, but she has counted in 106 of 108 career team rounds.
- de Groot is a highly-decorated Moc. She has earned All-SoCon honors in each of her three seasons and narrowly missed All-American mention in 2009-10 ranking No. 51 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index. The top 50 are named All-American. She was No. 38 in the Golfstat rankings. She is on Golf World's Players to Watch list.
- Freshman Yushira Buhdram (Johannesburg, South Africa) rounds out the travel squad. She is second to Wolf in Par 3 scoring average at 3.28 which is slightly better than team average of 3.29.
