Chattanooga Lady Mocs Basketball - Postgame Quotes
Chattanooga vs. Wyoming
The Matadome - Northridge, Calif.
Nov. 26, 2019
Head Coach Wes Moore
On the fight of the team tonight:
"That may be the case for the second half and maybe the last 30 minutes of the game. But we came out, the first 10 minutes. We were in a daze. We hung our heads because they hit some shots. We didn't to the little things. We didn't avoid screens. We left people open for threes because we wanted to run into picks. We didn't box out at times when we had to have a stop. We just didn't do the little things. It is very frustrating because we had a chance."
On the defensive play of Kayla Christopher late in the game:
"I am proud of the effort, especially down the stretch. We moved Kayla Christopher to on to Vandiver. There is no way Kayla Christopher ought to be able to guard her, except for, Kayla Christopher has a heart. She gave effort, she fought and she battled."
On the play of Whitney Hood:
"Whitney Hood is playing really well for us right now. She has stretched where she will just put the team on her back. I am proud of the effort she gave us."
On the play of Kylie Lambert:
"Kylie played well down the stretch. Kylie has to be more aggressive. Kylie has to be tougher. I expect that out of her. We have to have that for 40 minutes and we got it for about the last 10 minutes."
On the game-tying shot by Kiara Smith:
"Kiara can shoot the ball. That is what she brings to the table. She hit a big shot for us."
On the final possession:
"I did not want to call timeout. I did not want to give them a chance to set their "D." I thought we were on a roll and playing well. Get the ball to Hood and let them make a decision. Kayla was able to turn the corner and you can't blame her for wanting to get the ball to Hood. She has done a good job. Of course, the defense knew that too and had her covered like a glove on the weak side."
