TEAM
- The Lady Mocs drop a 50-56 contest at the College of Charleston tonight...UTC is now 3-6 on the year, 1-1 in SoCon action.
- UTC is 23-8 all-time against the College of Charleston, including 17 in a row between 2002 and 2009...The Cougars have won three of the last four and two-straight in Charleston.
- Chattanooga's first 12 points in the game came from behind the 3-point line.
- Leading 42-40, Charleston used an 11-0 run late in the second half to grab control of the game...Mocs freshman Alex Black hit a jumper to make the score 53-42 with 5:32 to stop the scoreless streak...the Cougars made five-straight shots during the run.
- Black's jumper started a 10-2 run by UTC to get the Lady Mocs back in the game...that run was capped by a three-pointer from Black and closed the gap to 55-50 with 2:43 left...both teams would continue to battle, but only one point was scored by either squad the rest of the way.
- UTC was outscored 24-10 in the paint and 18-5 off of turnovers.
INDIVIDUAL
Freshman Alex Black
- 11 points on 4-8 shooting, 2-5 from 3-pt. range and 1-1 from the FT line.
- Second game in double-figures.
- Hit two 3-pt. FGs for the first time.
Sophomore Kayla Christopher
- Made her first three 3-pointers and finished with nine points.
- Missed her last five shots from the field.
Freshman Taylor Hall
- Joined the team following the conclusion of fall exams...checked in for the first time with 6:58 in the second half.
- Hit her first career three-point with 4:45 on the clock to close the gap to 47-53.
Junior Whitney Hood
- Game-high 17 points on 7-13 shooting, 3-3 from the FT line.
- 12 points in the second half.
- Game-high 10 rebounds.
- Second career double-double.
- Eight consecutive games shooting over 50.0% from the field.
Sophomore Kylie Lambert
- Scored four points on just 1-7 shooting, 1-2 from 3-pt. range and 1-3 from the FT line.
- Added seven boards and four assists.
