Postgame Notes vs. Eastern Kentucky

TEAM

- UTC improves to 1-2 on the year with a 42-24 win against Eastern Kentucky (0-3).
 
- The Mocs scored on their opening possession for the third game in a row – a 21-yard TD pass from junior B.J. Coleman to junior Sloan Allison.  UTC made field goals in their first drives in each of the first two games this season. 
 
- Coleman and junior Joel Bradford hooked up for an 80-yard TD pass play in the first quarter.  It was the longest Mocs' reception since Stepfon Hawkins' 80-yarder at Samford on Sept. 2, 1999.  It is the eighth passing play of 80 yards or more in UTC's DI history.
 
- The Mocs had a 300-yard passer (Coleman – 24-32 for 375), 100-yard receiver (Bradford – 11 for 252) and a 100-yard rusher (Wynn – 17 for 122) for the first time since a 43-40 loss against Liberty on Nov. 13, 2004…that game Cedric Stevens threw for 364 yards, Eugene Cousart ran for 114 yards and Emanuel Hassell had 130 yards receiving.
 
- Mocs had a season-high 548 yards of total offense…it is their most since recording 695 in a 59-56 win against Appalachian State on Oct. 30, 2004. 
 
- Junior B.J. Coleman was sacked in the endzone for a safety.  It is the first safety UTC has allowed since a Team safety was recorded against sElon on Oct. 18, 2008. 
 
- UTC has only trailed for 7:21 in 180 minutes of action this season.
 
- The Mocs have outscored their opponents 66-16 in the first half this season.
 
- Tonight's attendance is 10,543…it is the seventh largest crowd for a Mocs game in Finley Stadium history.  It is the ninth crowd of 10,000+ for the Mocs since moving to Finley Stadium…four of those crowds have come in the last two years.
 
- The Mocs picked off three passes for the second consecutive game.  UTC is now +2 in the turnover margin for the season. 
 
INDIVIDUAL
Junior WR/TE Sloan Allison
- First career start…in the opening package at receiver.
- First career touchdown catch, a 21-yard reception, on the team's opening drive. 
- Finished with two catches for 35 yards and two TDs (21, 14)
- First multi-catch game of his career
 
Freshman WR Marlon Anthony
- Has five catches on the year, two for TDs, including a 6-yard scoring catch in the second quarter today.
- Season high four catches for 39 yards and one TD
 
Junior WR Joel Bradford
- 11 catches for a school-record 254 yards receiving…broke Alonzo Nix's UTC mark of 247 set in a 59-56 win against Appalachian State on Oct. 30, 2004. 
- 5th most receiving yards in a game in SoCon history.
- Hauled in his third TD reception of the season in the first quarter. 
- 80-yard TD catch in first quarter is the longest Mocs' reception since Stepfon Hawkins' 80-yarder at Samford on Sept. 2, 1999.  It is the eighth passing play of 80 yards or more in UTC's DI history.
- Three catches in the first quarter led to 101 yards receiving and one TD…it is his first career 100-yard receiving game. 
 
Junior QB B.J. Coleman
- 24-32 for a career-high 375 yards passing
- 4 TD ties a career-high set against No. 17 Wofford in 2009
- 10th game in his career with 200-yards passing…5th all-time at UTC.
- 3rd career 300-yard game…joins Chris Sanders (1999-00) as the only Mocs with three or more 300-yard games…Sanders has the school-record with 12.
- Now has 3,212 career yards, ranking No. 9 on the Mocs' career list.
- 80-yard strike to Bradford in the first quarter was a career-long pass play.
 
Junior LB Ryan Consiglio
- Game-high 10 tackles
- Second-straight game with 10+ tackles
 
Junior LB J.D. Dothard
- Third career interception in the second quarter.
 
Senior DB Buster Skrine
- Playing essentically with one arm due to an injured elbow…but still managed an acrobatic, one-handed interception. 
- First INT of the season and the 5th of his career.
 
Sophomore DL Josh Williams
- Career-high three sacks…upped his career total to 10.0
 
Senior RB Erroll Wynn
- 17 carries for 122 yards and 1 TD
- Moved into 8th place on the Mocs all-time rushing list…has 2,024 for his career.
- 490 career carries…came into the game ranked No. 10 in the NCAA FCS for career carries
