TEAM
- Lady Mocs fall at Appalachian State 70-54...UTC drops to 8-10 overall and 5-4 in SoCon play...ASU improves to 12-4 overall and 6-2 in the SoCon.
- Appalachian State snaps a 26-game losing streak to the Lady Mocs...today's game was the 70th meeting between the two schools. Chattanooga holds a 48-21 advantage in the series...the last time UTC lost to Appalachian State was a 78-65 defeat on Dec. 29, 1998 in Boone, N.C., during head coach Wes Moore's first season.
- UTC led 23-18 with just over five minutes remaining in the first half before Appalachian State closed with a 14-1 run to take a 32-24 advantage into the locker room...ASU opened the second half with an 11-4 run to open a 43-28 lead with 14:36 left in the game...all totaled, the Mountaineers outscored UTC 25-5 over 10 minutes from the end of the first half and the start of the second half.
- UTC is now 2-8 when trailing at the half and 1-9 when trailing with 10 minutes to play.
- Chattanooga is 2-10 when scoring less than 70 points.
- Junior Whitney Hood & sophomore Kylie Lambert
- Combined for 29 of the teams 54 points.
- Combined to shoot 10-23 (43.5%) from the field...rest of the team was 9-36 (25.0%).
- Lambert was 2-4 (50.0%) from 3-pt. range...rest of the team was 4-22 (18.2%).
- Combined to shoot 9-12 (75.0%) from the FT line...rest of the team was 1-6 (16.7%).
- Grabbed 17 of the team's 37 rebounds.
- ASU's Ashlen Dewart scored 28 points on 11-19 shooting, 6-6 from the FT line...it is the second most points UTC has allowed an individual opponent to score this season...she is the younger sister of Lady Moc junior Bailey Dewart.
INDIVIDUAL
Junior Whitney Hood
- Team-high 16 points on 6-13 shooting, 4-6 from the FT line.
- Added six boards.
- Leads the SoCon with 21.7 ppg.
Sophomore Kylie Lambert
- First career double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
- Team-high and tied for game-high in rebounds.
- Second time in her career she has grabbed 10+ boards...had 10 vs. Austin Peay on 11/23/10.
- Sixth time scoring in double-figures this season...fourth in last six games.
- Shot 4-10 from the field, 2-4 from 3-pt. range and 5-6 from the FT line.
- Added three assists and two steals.
- Career-high 37 minutes.
