TEAM
- UTC stays on top of the Southern Conference standings at 3-0 with a 64-58 win over Western Carolina...the Lady Mocs improve to 7-3 overall while the Catamounts drop to 4-7 overall and 0-4 in league action.
- It is the fifth straight win for UTC ... this is the first five-game winning streak for UTC since winning 13-straight in the 2009-10 season.
- Chattanooga is 25-4 in SoCon home openers.
- UTC starts conference play 3-0 for the 14th time.
- UTC led by 11 (55-44) following an Alex Black 3-pointer with 4:19 left in the game...WCU went on a 14-5 run over the next four minutes to cut the lead to 60-58 with 28 second left...the Catamounts were 4-4 from behind the arc in that stretch.
- Western Carolina shot 9-21 (42.9%) from 3-pt. range...it was a season-high in threes made.
- UTC shot 5-28 (17.9%) from 3-pt. range...season low percentage from deep.
- Despite the tight game late, Chattanooga never trailed in the contest.
- Chattanooga committed a season-low eight TOs.
INDIVIDUAL
Sophomore Alex Black
- Career-high 15 points in 22 minutes off the bench.
- Shot 2-7 from the field, 1-5 from 3-pt. range and 10-10 from the FT line.
- Second most FTs made without a miss in school history.
- Has made 15-straight FTs and is 15-16 overall this season.
- Added three assists and her fourth career block.
Sophomore Faith Dupree
- Played eight minutes with illness.
- Finished with 10 points on 4-7 shooting, 2-2 from the FT line.
- Added two boards and a block.
Sophomore Taylor Hall
- Nearly missed a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds
- Shot 5-13 from the field, 0-5 from 3-pt. range.
- Tied a career-high with three assists.
Senior Whitney Hood
- Tied a career-high with 13 rebounds.
- Added eight points on 3-6 shooting, 2-3 from the FT line.
Senior Tenisha Townsend
- Had four assists and no turnovers in 22 minutes at the point.
- Added three boards.
- Three points on 1-7 shooting from 3-pt. range.
