On the energy of the game
We got out to probably a 10-point lead and then they came back and tied it. Our kids have gotten better defensively. They took away what they needed to take away from Wofford that they do well. We won the battle of the boards, thank goodness, and we took care of the ball with 18 assists and 13 turnovers. That's encouraging.
On the contribution of the team as a whole
"A lot of people contributed. Tenisha shooting from the 3-point line in the first half, she was 3-for-5 tonight. That was big for us. Kylie had a great game with 15 points and eight boards and Kayla Christopher had a solid game with 12 points, six assists and just two turnovers.
"Taylor Hall had a nice game as well. She came in and scored nine points and had six rebounds with limited playing time. She hit a big 3 so it's encouraging. I think she's getting better and better. In fact, the coaches felt like in practice that she stepped up and its showing on the court.
"We got Meghan Downes 18 minutes of playing time, and Alex Black had 13. We might need to get them a little more, but again, we've got to be committed to doing that from here on out.
"Lynette Harris went in and got three rebounds in just two minutes of play. I told her she was Dennis Rodman with a better 'do. It was good to see her get in there and do well."
On the difference between tonight's game and one at McKenzie.
"At our place they shot the lights out and we got away with a 93-88 win. This time, their point total was about half that so I think our defense has gotten better. I was very pleased with defensive effort tonight. We did a nice job crashing the boards and on the defensive end keeping them off the glass. Mahagony Williams is very physical and had a great game with 17 points and nine boards. We knew she was going to get what she could, but we wanted to not let them kill us with the 3's. They shot the lights out at our place, but we held them to just five here tonight."
On the free throw situation
"Free throws are still a little frustrating. For a team that shoots as well as we do, I don't understand why we're not shooting free throws better. It's like a no-hitter in baseball. Do you talk about it or not say anything. I've done a little of both. You just don't know if you should talk about it or just leave it alone."
